While we were dispensing eye glasses at the Funda Vida community center in San Jose, Costa Rica, the voices of the women of Linda Vista rang out in a powerful chorus: "I need to move, I need to wake up! I need to change, I need to shake it up!"

"Now I can see the beautiful women!", declares Victor Hugo, one of the recipients of the Linda Vista community who benefited greatly from our eye dispensary session.

Flightseeing above the Northern Icefields, Patagonia
The Northern Patagonian Icefield in the Aysen region of Patagonia, Chile is the second largest continuous mass of ice outside the polar regions. Much like the rest of the remote and spectacular Aysen region, it's grandeur is hard to put into words. The below time lapse was taken from a flightseeing expedition above the fields and hopefully lives up to the saying that a picture is worth a thousand words

Luis Canas winery was among the most luscious and beautiful tasting rooms on the vineyard on a sunny Rioja spring day.

Scanning across the vines at Luis Canas on our Spain Wines and Wildlands adventures, Carmen reveals the special terroir of Rioja and the philosophy of these organic winemakers. Protected from too much rain by the surrounding mountains and with just the right humidity contributed by the river below, their pruners leave only two bunches per stem to maximize the robust flavor of their Grand Reserves.

Carmen treats us to one of the most beautiful tastings and tasting rooms at Luis Canas winery in Alta Rioja, Spain...

Carmin, our lovely and informed host at Luis Canas winery, scans across their Rioja Alta vines to explain how the surrounding mountains block Atlantic weather, and the river below creates localized humidity for perfect growing conditions. Organic farming and cutting back grape bunches to 2 per vine creates their rich Grand Reserve.

Check out the Tuna band that serenaded us with traditional regional music in Plaza Mayor as we sipped cava, red and white.

Our local Basque guide "Xabi" gives the short spiel on the difference between tapas and pinxtos before we hit the pinxtos bars!

Nothing like a little protein before cycling the Silk Islands just across from Cambodia's capital, Phnom Penh. Every international trip I like to try at least one weird thing, this time it was cricket! Exploring the Silk Islands by bike is a great way to experience the village life in the Cambodian countryside. The absence of most four-wheeled traffic makes for a peaceful ride and a quick ferry ride from Phnom Penh will get you over to the islands. - Jonathan Burnham (Wildland Marketing Director) PS: I am a vegetarian!!! Dawn and Michael, 9x Wildland Alumni travelers, were in Seattle last week to visit their daughter (who grew up on Wildland family adventures) and they stopped in to finally meet their Wild crew. Over champagne toasts Michael recounts all the times they've had their pictures in the local press back home in Pleasant Hill riding elephants, or with tigers, or orangutans, or Komodo dragons, and their friends always exclaim, "Wow!" Now they are off on their 10th Wildland Adventure (this time to Peru) with their daughter and her new companion.
